Race for the Cure
I signed up for the Race for the Cure 5K in Rome tomorrow, so today I went to the ‘Race Village’ to complete the registration process, and they gave me a ‘Race Bag’. From the contents of this bag, one can tell that this event is directed toward the fairer sex (for obvious reasons). Here is a sampling of what I found, besides the t-shirt, when I dug into the bag:
*Retinol Anti-Cellulite Modelling: Moisturising Slimming Care: “Reduces the ‘orange peel’ appearance and redefines the silhouette’
*Neutrogena Hand Cream (‘Assorbimento Rapido’; ‘Formula Norevegese’, in case you were curious)
*Johnson’s Baby Bedtime Bath (‘Dolci Notti’); so maybe the event is also directed at babies
And–wait for it–a GIANT box of ‘Carefree’ maxi-pads, using the innovative ‘Triplefresh [TM] System’. The box contains ‘40 + 4 gratis’, which seems like a hardy number to me. Then again, I don’t know very much about these things.
The run seems to have a nice route: it starts near the Baths of Caracalla, goes by Circus Maximus, the old Republican temples of the Forum Boarium, past the Theater of Marcellus, through Piazza Venezia, past the various Fora, around the Colosseum, past the Arch of Constantine (my favorite Roman monument), and back to the Baths.

Nice! And what exciting presents you can have for Allison when she gets back, tell her you picked up all the lady products just for her.
In non-female-products related news...the Piston's pulled off a win in game 7! Hope you caught the highlights on ESPN.com.
OH my word, I am in love with the pistons right now. Why they have to tease us so by losing three games in a row is another question entirely.
Liz: Yes, I would have preferred chocolates to some of the, ahem, other items that were included, but what can you do.
J: Yeah, tell me about it--I think that gets me off the hook for having to 'run to the store' for a LONG time. I mean, I'm talking decades.
J/V: Yes, that game was SWEET, and by sweet I mean TOTALLY AWESOME. One of our friends here who has a Blackberry found an Irish pub type place near Piazza Navona that was showing it, so I got to see it from about 2 minutes left in the first half through to the end. Onward and upward, boys; ONWARD AND UPWARD!
Ok. Enough of the caps lock.
I love the CAPS lock and also those exclaimation marks!(!) Keep those babies coming. Those Pistons are really pulling through when it counts.
Just some advice on the goody bag- I'd keep that anti-cellulite cream away from the apartment. That's just a fight waiting to happen.
Do you get a free PICK t-shirt the day of the race? That would be sweet and by sweet I mean beyond rad-tas-tic.
Correction PICK=PINK. Duh.
Some car buffs use diapers for their car buffing. I wonder if maxi-pads can be similarly used. I guess it just Depends™.
Not sure where I was going with this. Hope all is well!
Beau:
That made me laugh out loud.
