Dan: Your Latin teacher friend is right on the money. Ostia IS like a playground if you like old bizness. To whet your appetite (and anyone else's who might be visiting), here are some pictures of it. Sweeter still, you can get there and back from Rome for about 2 Euro, round-trip.
