What American Accent Do You Have?
This quiz must be pretty accurate, or else my own particular results are just a very accurate fluke. And by the way, we do speak standard English straight out of the dictionary.
What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Inland North You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." | |

This was fun. I've got a Midland accent, particularly effective for t.v. and radio. Oh, the possibilities.

I tried this out and also have the inland north accent. I always thought I sounded like the people on TV until I moved to Tennessee and everyone told me I have an accent and DO NOT talk like the people on TV. I still think they are wrong . . .
Island north: that's me.
Very interesting.
Who says Pin is Pen? Weird.
Vee, Southern peeps say pin and pen the same. if you watch Paula Dean on the Food Network - she is a perfect example.
dennis and i did it, and i guess living on the east coast has scewed my native western accent! so now i have a "inland north" accent, which is good for tv (!). thing is, i'm pretty sure when i took this quiz in undergrad out in california that i got 'the west.'
Inland North is the best. Clearly.
And it is 'pop'. Who would say anything else? Onomatopoeia, people.
